On January 3, 2009, at 18:15:05, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first Bitcoin block, known as the Genesis Block, on a small server in Helsinki, Finland, and received a reward of 50 Bitcoins. Bitcoin was thus born, opening the curtain for blockchain technology.
